Bulk orders
Queens and nucleus colonies in quantity
We supply commercial outfits, clubs buying together, and research programs. If you need more than a handful, start here, not on the order form.
Who we supply
Three kinds of buyer
- Commercial beekeepers
- Outfits building colonies or requeening at scale, usually taking nucleus colonies by the truckload from the farm and arranging their own transport.
- Clubs buying together
- One order, one pickup, split between members. It is a simple way for a club to bring B.C. stock into its region.
- Research and teaching
- Queens of known age and lineage for replicated trials, teaching apiaries, and conservation breeding programs.
Run a shop and want to sell our queens, honey, or candles to your own customers? That is a different page: become a stockist.
How it works
Booked ahead, filled in batches
Queens are reared in batches and ship weekly from early May to about the tenth of August. A large order is filled across several weeks, not handed over in one go. The earlier you book, the more of it we can fill.
Nucleus colonies are collected at the farm from mid April through May and are never shipped, at any quantity. Ten or more is a conversation before it is an order, because we want to know what you are building before we commit the bees.
Standing orders carry over year to year. Most of a season is spoken for months ahead, and requests for the following spring start arriving in October.
Shipping is $50 flat on orders of fewer than 5 queens. Queens are $60 each for 1 to 10, $56 each for 11 to 100, and $48 each over 100. A 5 frame nucleus colony order of 10 or more is priced by the order.

What to send
Four lines is enough
How many, which week, where they are going, and what they are for. That is enough for Emily to tell you what is possible, and it saves the four emails it usually takes to get there.
Research and teaching programs: say what the trial or the course needs. Queens of a known age from a known line are a different order from queens for honey production, and the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture inspection report comes with every buyer of live bees.
Questions
Common questions
Do you take bulk orders for queens and nucleus colonies?
Yes. Wild Antho takes bulk orders for queens and nucleus colonies from commercial beekeepers, bee clubs buying together, and research programs. Send the number, the week, and where the bees are going.
How large an order can you fill?
Ask with the number and the week. Wild Antho rears queens in batches through the season, so a large order is usually filled across several weeks rather than handed over in one go, and the earlier it is booked the more of it can be met.
Can you supply a research or teaching program?
Yes. Wild Antho can supply queens of known age and lineage for replicated trials and for teaching apiaries, and every buyer of live bees gets the B.C. Ministry of Agriculture inspection report. Say what the trial or course needs and when.
Is there a price break on volume?
Yes. Wild Antho queens are $60 each for 1 to 10, $56 each for 11 to 100, and $48 each over 100. A 5 frame nucleus colony order of 10 or more is priced by the order, so send the number and the pickup week.
