Where we go

Hives placed across the Okanagan and Shuswap

We bring hives to growers anywhere in the Okanagan, and north into the Shuswap. Our range is about three hours' drive from the farm at Armstrong.

The colonies that come to your crop are headed by the same queens we rear here, from the same stock as our nucleus colonies.

How it works

Hives on your land for the bloom

We work by the bloom. Each bloom is one set. A grower with cherries and apples books two sets: hives for the cherry blossom, then hives for the apple blossom. Each set is its own service.

We drop the hives off as the first blossoms open, and they stay about 10 to 14 days. We pick them up before the very end of the bloom. You tell us the crop, the acreage, and roughly when it flowers, and we work out how many colonies that needs.

Our hives work tree fruit of every kind, from cherries to apples, plus berries, squash, and melons.

What we need from you is access for a truck and somewhere dry and level to set the hives, clear of spraying while they are with you. Every booking comes with a short contract that sets out the details.

Book before the season fills

Pollination starts in April. Call early. The earlier you call, the more likely we can come, and the early crops fill first. Get in touch over the winter and tell us what is flowering and when. We will tell you straight away whether we have the hives for it.
