Three beeswax pillar candles.

What they are like

Nothing added, so they smell like the hive

There is no scent added to our candles. What you smell is the wax itself: honey, and whatever the bees were working that summer.

They are poured in small batches from our own cappings, so the colour is not identical from one run to the next. That is the wax, not a fault.

Burning them

How to burn a beeswax candle

Pillars and cylinders. The first burn sets the pool, so give it time. Burn it one hour for every inch of width. Our 3 inch cylinders need 3 hours the first time they are lit. After that, light it and put it out whenever you like. As it burns down, fold the soft wall of wax in toward the flame with your fingers. That way it burns all of its wax.

Tapers. A well made beeswax taper should not drip.

Shapes. Pine cones, hedgehogs, morels, and the other moulded shapes are not made for a clean burn. They will drip. You get what you get. Set them on a dish or a tray.

When to ask

Poured in batches, so ask ahead for a lot

Candle season is Thanksgiving, Remembrance Day, Christmas, finished. We pour through the year, and most of it before Christmas. If you want one or two, tell us which and we will set them out for you to collect. If you want a boxful, give us some notice and we will pour for it.

For shops

Most of our candles go wholesale

Nearly all of our candles are sold to shops. If you run a shop and want to carry them, tell us what you are after and how many.

Wholesale orders

We also sell

The wax on its own

If you pour your own, we sell raw beeswax in small quantities. The honey comes off the same hives.

Now and then

Hear from the farm

Leave your email and we might send a note about once a year. Maybe a farm honey sale. No promises, and nothing else.
